Stainless Steel 310S pipe fittings are an austenitic high-alloy stainless steel that contains chromium (24-26%) and nickel (19-22%). It provides excellent resistance to oxidation and corrosion, particularly at elevated temperatures. The superior strength and toughness of 310S result from low carbon content, which reduces carbide precipitation and thus enhances weldability. Mechanical properties include tensile strength at 515 MPa, yield strength at 205 MPa and elongation 40%. These products must be used in high temperature applications, such as furnaces and heat exchangers, and plants of chemical industry where also thermal as well as mechanical performance is considered.
