Stainless Steel 305 consists of 18-20% chromium, 8-10% nickel, and a small percentage of manganese, silicon, and carbon, which provides good corrosion resistance as well as good formability. The carbon level is low, so the alloy is resistant to welding carbide precipitation; its mechanical properties are a tensile strength of 515-700 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of 40%. The material shows good workability to be deep drawn and shaped. It is also non-magnetic in the annealed condition, having good resistance against oxidation and pitting, particularly in aggressive environments.

The 305 stainless steel in hot rolled sheets is corrosion-resistant, strong, and versatile. These sheets are usually available in various thicknesses between 1.5mm and 25mm and up to 2000mm in width. Ideally, they find applications in heavy-duty sectors and structural elements.
